Halifax Hoopers Blaze to Fifth Consecutive Win

Five straight. Zero doubts. If the Hoopers are trying to make a statement this season, consider it officially delivered.

Under the bright lights at Crandall University’s ‘The Court’ in Moncton, the Halifax Hoopers pulled off their fifth straight win with a 103–93 takedown of the Tri City Tide, and it was anything but ordinary. This wasn’t just a win — it was a full-on team symphony, every player contributing to the rising rhythm of Halifax’s most exciting basketball story.

The Hoopers started off hot — tight defense, quick ball movement, and a relentless tempo that caught the Tide flat-footed. Akeem Clarke wasted no time making his presence known, bullying his way through the paint for early buckets and snatching rebounds like the glass owed him money. When he threw down a two-handed dunk mid-second quarter, the bench didn’t just stand — they erupted.

And then, right on cue, Jaylin Scott checked in and lit the fuse. Within seconds, he buried a long-range three that silenced a Tide run, then slashed to the rim for a reverse layup that had the Crandall crowd buzzing. Suddenly, Halifax had swagger — and momentum.

Josiah Tynes kept the foot on the gas. He threaded passes through defenders like a magician and drained a cold-blooded buzzer-beater three to close the third quarter — a dagger that deflated the Tide and ignited the Halifax bench.

The fourth quarter was pure Hoopers grind. Lansana Nwosu dug in with blue-collar rebounds and muscled in a tough and-one finish that had the crowd on its feet. The Tide tried to claw back, but Anthony Ottley calmly sank mid-range jumpers and free throws like it was a practice drill. Cool. Collected. Clutch.

“We came in knowing it would take a full-team effort,” said Head Coach Augy Jones post-game. “And that’s exactly what we delivered. Five wins, one goal: keep growing. Halifax basketball is here.”

The final minutes were all about composure. The Hoopers controlled the clock, protected the rock, and when the final buzzer sounded, it wasn’t just a win — it was a warning shot to the rest of the league.
