HALIFAX HOOPERS Announce New Player Signings for the Upcoming Season
Halifax Hoopers announce the signing of seven new players who will join the team for the upcoming season of 2025.
“I’m incredibly proud to announce this milestone, coming full circle from my days playing basketball at the north end community. I hope our franchise inspires every young player with dreams of going pro. By fostering a culture of hard work and dedication, we aim to be a strong force in developing minor players across the province and connecting with schools and communities”, said Geoff Clyke, Team Market Owner of the Halifax Hoopers. “As the first African Canadian owner of a professional team in Canada, I couldn’t be prouder. We’re here to go hard, play hard, and work hard.”
The athletes, bringing diverse skills and experiences, are:
- T Barrett from Toronto, played for KW Titans and Windsor Express; named 2022 Rookie of the Year with KW Titans as the first Canadian.
- Antonio (Tony) Davis from Detroit, Michigan, has experience with Flint United, Lebanon Leprechauns, Montreal Toundra, and Newfoundland Rogues.
- Anthony Ottley from Toronto, has extensive experience in the NBLC and BSL.
- Tyler Scott from Halifax, Nova Scotia, played for Island Storm and the Halifax Hurricanes.
- Lansana Nwosu from Scarborough, Toronto, played for Acamdie Alm.
- Shacier Locke from Mississauga, Ontario, previously played for Truro Tide in the ECBL.
- CJ Bennett from Brampton played for Cape Breton University and Humber College.
The Halifax Hoopers are set to play at their new home venue, the Joseph Zatzman Sportsplex in Dartmouth. This location will serve as the central hub for fans to experience a season of high-energy, fast-paced basketball.
